Who is the OptimizePress Geek?
Hi my name is Kevin McClellan. Thanks for stopping by! I have been around the WordPress & OptimizePress scene for over 17 years now, and have helped hundreds of people learn both. I have been helping others full time since 2013 and previously as a hobby/side gig.
Although I do love designing websites, my passion has always been teaching others what I know. I have a background in teaching. I actually used to give flying lessons to student pilots, and also taught some classes to prepare students for their exams in Aviation.
My goal with this website is to help others with WordPress & OptimizePress to enable others to turn their passion into a revenue generating fun business, without getting stuck in the tech behind it.
I grew up in Battle Creek, Michigan, however my family relocated and moved to a small town in Tennessee when I was 15. I have lived in Tennessee most of my life since, and currently live in Fayetteville, TN (about 40 miles North of Huntsville, Alabama) with my awesome wife and 3 curious cats.
How I got started with WordPress
I have been designing web pages since around 1998. Long before WordPress or Social Media were a thing. I guess that makes me old right? A friend of mine introduced me to WordPress back in 2005. After coding my own small sites with HTML, CSS, and a little PHP for some time, it was honestly a relief to have a good platform to build sites on.
Back in that time, WordPress was just getting off the ground and page builders were not a thing, so my coding abilities were still a good skill to have.
For several years I helped friends of mine as a hobby with their WordPress sites, but then in January 2013 I started my own business doing the same thing and haven't looked back since.
How I became the "OptimizePress Geek"
So my business was off to a great start, and some clients of mine asked me to do some work on their sites which was using OptimizePress. While it was quite a complex tool back then, it has morphed into a very easy to use platform that I really enjoy working with.
The more I used it the more I liked it, and ended up buying my own account with OptimizePress. I was logging into the members area one day to grab a license key and noticed a "now hiring" banner at the top. My gut feeling told me to apply for it, and of course got hired almost 10 years ago. I now head up the support team at OptimizePress.
Now the all new OptimizePress was launched in the Summer of 2019 and is taking website building to a whole new exciting level. OptimizePress truly is the best page builder for WordPress, and I'm looking forward to helping you with it.

I would be happy to discuss your needs if you are interested in hiring a WordPress, OptimizePress Expert to help out with your site or technical stuff (even if you don't use OptimizePress I'm well skilled in other themes/plugins, membership platforms, etc...).
I can also help with any hosting setups such as Siteground, Cloudways (to some extent), Knownhost, or any host that uses cPanel or something similar (such as the custom panel that 20i.com uses). I'm also able to use FTP or other hosting setups. These skills can come in handy when you might want to migrate your WordPress site from one host to another, or even from one domain to another. I know all the little tricks to make the process very easy and smooth.
